Through the Eyes of a Pilgrim

Hello,

I’m writing to let you know about ‘Through the Eyes of a Pilgrim’, a special writing/photography project I’m committed to.

During the month of July I will be on a pilgrimage walking across northern Spain. The pilgrimage is known as The Way of St James. It began as a Catholic pilgrimage in the 10th or 11th century but has morphed into much more with people of all backgrounds and reasons for becoming a ‘Peregrino’ walking over 750 kms to find answers to unknown questions.

the routeMy sister Lezlie will join me walking over 700 km to photograph and write about the seven cathedrals that lie on the Camino Frances including the villages, towns and cities in between starting with the Cathedral in Pamplona and ending with the Cathedral in Santiago.

Besides my computer stuff my sister and I are both freelance writers and photographers. My writing and photographs have been published in national and regional magazines and Lezlie has written two books, one non-fiction, one that is fiction and numerous magazine articles.

We will keep a daily journal recording our impressions of the cathedrals and the people we meet. Through our writing (blogging when possible on eyesofapilgrim.com), photography and videography we will publish a photo book which will describe the role of the cathedrals in the lives of today’s pilgrims as well as our experiences along the way. The book will be shared with our supporters at the end of the pilgrimage in both hardcover and ePub format.

If you’d like to know more, please feel free to contact me.

Take a moment to check it out on Indiegogo and also share it with your friends. All the tools are there. Get perks, make a contribution, or simply follow updates. If enough of us get behind it, we can make ‘Through the Eyes of a Pilgrim’ happen!

$99 web sites now available!

I’ve set up a companion web site called http://99dollarsapage.com that provides basic web sites for flea and farmer’s market vendors in B.C because I think the cost of web sites is way too expensive for vendors. Just $99 for a web site? Actually, there are two more cost associated with your own web site and that is the registering of your domain name, typically about $10 for a .com name and about $65 per year for a web site hosting company to host your web site. You’ll get at least one free email account when you host your site, sometimes a lot more. Go take a look and tell me what you think.

Oh, you can always register for free as a vendor here on bcfleamarkets.com.
